Former multiweight Mexican champion Jorge Arce looked in good form in dismantling and eventually knocking out late replacement Jose Carmona in the 8th round at the Domo de San Luis Potosí in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
The fight, made at featherweight was Arce’s first since announcing his retirement in 2012. The final barrage of punches left Carmona on the ground and the brave Colombian left the ring attended by medics and on a stretcher.
Arce improves to (61-7-2, 46 KOs) and Carmona’s record falls to (22-4, 12 KOs).
It is unclear at this time how Carmona is doing, however Arce commented on Twitter “Friends let’s pray for my opponent, seems he is doing very badly. I hope God blesses him. This is a sport and hopefully he’ll have a speedy recovery from a very hard fight.”
Secondsout will update readers on his situation as and when information unfolds but in the mean time we wish him a healthy and speedy recovery.
