Gangian “Maravilla” Lopez returned to action last night in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico beating Mario “Dragoncito” Rodriguez on points over 12.
Lopez, whose record improves to 24-5, 15 KOs with the win boxed well on the outside and controlled the oncoming former IBF minimumweight champ Rodriguez who falls to 16-9-4, 11 KOs. The scores of this light flyweight bout were 118-110, 119-109, 120-109.
On the undercard Ramon “Innocente” Alvarez, brother to superstar Saul ’Canelo’ Alvarez, had an easy nights work in stopping Gilberto Flores in 2. Alvarez, campaigning at jr middleweight will be hoping for a sterner test in his next outing.
Also on the card at featherweight Jorge “Pilon” Lara beat Jairo “Peligroso” Hernandez over ten with scores of 95-95, 97-96, 96-94 and in a super bantamweight contest Horatio Garcia stopped Cesar Saucedo in the 2nd.
