Rodriguez and Raheem both get points wins in Washington

Juan Antonio Rodriguez beats Yenifel “El Rayo” Vicente over and 8 and returning Zahir Raheem whitewashes “The Mongolian Mongoose” Bayan Jargal over 10 at the Emerald Queen Hotel & Casino in Tacoma, Washington.

Rodriguez now 26-4, 22 KOS effectively cut the ring down and pressured the smaller and overmatched Yenifel “El Rayo” Vicente for each of the 8 rounds of their contest. Vicente however had his moments and did seem to have some success with the right hand. Scores were 77-75, 77-75.

Zahir Raheem, who once beat Mexican great Erik Morales, returned to action on the undercard and looked in complete control over “The Mongolian Mongoose” Bayan Jargal. Raheem who looked fluid and confident in the ring was able to control the bout with his superior boxing skills. The Philly native won by scores of 99-91, 99-91, 97-93 and improves to 35-3, 21 KOS with the victory, Jargal drops to 17-5-3, 10 KOs.

Big punching heavyweight prospect Lateef “Power” Kayode improved his ledger to 20-0, 16 KOs with a sixth round stoppage against Jonte Willis who drops to 9-8-1, 3 KOs with the loss. Kayode, who recently moved up from cruiserweight looked slightly lethargic in the bout but managed to force the stoppage with an unanswered flurry in the 6th and final round.
