Booth Hits Back At ‘’Arrogant Klitschkos’.

By Clive Bernath: Adam Booth, the manager/trainer of David Haye has hit back at Wladimir Klitschko’s statement earlier today that he is ready to face him in a unification match on July 2.

Even though WBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko is scheduled to defend his titles against Dereck Chisora in Germany on April 30, Klitschko insisted Monday that he is still happy to accommodate Haye on July 2, either in the UK or Germany and split the entire revenue 50/50.

However. Booth told Sky Sports News negotiations are far from being completed. "David and me are tired of the publicity that Klitschko keeps continuing to spout” said Booth.

"I haven’t heard anything from the Klitschkos since the new year when they told me they were going to be fighting Dereck Chisora next instead of David, after having giving them everything they wanted.

"(It was) a total waste of time, we never got to the contract stage and it’s so far from being a completed deal because they were looking for any reason not to make the fight last time we negotiated.

"They said 50-50 we said ’fine’, even though David brings more to the table, they said it has to be on RTL even though RTL would pay less than our German broadcaster, so we said ’fine’, how much are you putting into the pot from RTL, and they say ’we’re not telling you’.

"It’s one-upmanship publicity and it’s just a bit tedious and a bit tiring as far as i’m concerned. The level of arrogance is unbelievable and we’re sick and tired of it. If he wants the fight, get into the ring with David next.

Haye is scheduled to fight in May against the WBA’s mandatory challenger Ruslan Chagaev, It is common knowledge that Chagaev has been diagnosed with having contracted Hepatitis B. This may well effect his approval to fight in the UK. The British Boxing Board of Control is reportedly due to review Chagaev’s medical record later this week. If he is not permitted to fight in the UK then WBA No.2 Alexander Povetkin is reportedly on standby to take his place.

Talks for a Klitschko vs Haye showdown have been talked about for well over a year now with both camps blaming the other for failing to agree terms. I for one am sick and tired of listening to all the nonsense as to why this fight has not be signed and sealed. There is no excuse whatsoever as to why this fight can or has not happened.

Forget the past, once Klitschko and Haye have fought in April and May respectively the fight CAN happen. Booth himself has said as much.

Speaking to Sky Sports Booth insisted; "David’s fighting in May, Wladimir’s fighting in April. That gives David enough time to fight in October, if Wladimir wants to get in the ring with him.

"But the negotiations we had last time was the first time I believed he doesn’t want to get in the ring with David."

For the record I believe both Haye and Klitschko desperately want this fight. There is plenty enough money in the pot so can we please just get it on and give the fans the fight they want?

Who do you think is to blame for the heavyweight fight of the year not happening Team Haye or Team Klitschko?
