Afrizal Cotto passed away earlier today(April 4) at around 5am local time at UKI Christian University Hospital in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Afrizal was admitted to the hospital on Saturday evening after a 12 round decision defeat to Irvan Barita Marbun for Afrizal’s national super featherweight national title.
Doctors decided to conduct brain surgery to remove a blood clot after a CT Scan revealed an abnormality.
Afrizal never regained consciousness after surgery. Sadly, Afrizal had planned to use his fight purse money for his upcoming wedding.
