Tony Bellow will defend his British light-heavyweight title against Paul David at the Liverpool Olympia on September 17. Bellow, who will be making the first defence of his title, cannot afford any slip ups against the 26 year-old challenger as a world title opportunity against WBO champion Nathan Cleverly has been scheduled in for the end of the year.
The original top of the bill was to have been Stephen Smith defending his British featherweight title against Lee Selby. Smith vs Selby will now take place in London on September 9 .
In other news Liverpool’s Tony Dodson will face Darren Stubbs for the IBO International light-heavyweight title at the Greenbank Sports Centre in Liverpool on October 8. The show will be promoted by Stephen Vaughn Jr.
The undercard will feature flyweight Paul Edwards, John Watson, Joe Tonks, Liam Vaughan, Josh Brough, Phil Smith as well as debutants Karl Skeggs and Andy Colquhoun.
