Following his thrilling WBO super featherweight title success against Roman Martinez last weekend, new Scottish hero Ricky Burns is set for a quick ring return.
His promoter Frank Warren is already working on the new champion’s first title defence .
"Scotland has a new hero and we will get Ricky back out to defend soon," said Warren, after the fight.
"I’d like Ricky to fight again before Christmas. He deserves a few weeks off because that was one hell of a fight, but I’m sure he will be back before too long.
"Glasgow is a wonderful fight city, and the fans were fantastic this evening. Once word gets around about Ricky he will be fighting in front of bigger and bigger crowds."
