WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch will defend his title against Mikkel Kessler in Copenhagen, Denmark on April 17.
The bout takes place as part of Showtime’s Super Six tournament and will be both fighters second fight in the series. Nottingham born Froch opened his account by scoring a split decision 12 round points win over Andre Dirrell while tournament favourite Kessler surprising was easily defeat by the then untested Anfre Ward.
According to Froch’s promoter Mick Hennessy travelling to face Kessler will not be a problem. "We’ve confirmed a date of 17 April. It will take place in Denmark and will be on at around 10pm in the evening UK time which is great news for British fight fans,” said Hennessy. "Carl proved with that sensational KO over Jermain Taylor that he can go into the lion’s den and beat the very best in the world and I’ve no doubt he’ll prove that again against Kessler."
