British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has blown a gasket after hearing Martin Rogan rejected a lucrative offer to face him at the King’s Hall in Belfast on September 17.
Promoter Mick Hennessy was informed by Rogan on Thursday that he would not be willing to face Fury. Rogan had reportedly stated that he would "knock him out and beat him senseless" just a day earlier.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph Hennessy said: "I can’t believe that Martin has turned down the offer to fight Tyson. He was given all he wanted - one of the best purses he’s ever had, a chance to fight for both titles and fighting in his home city.
"In the end Martin talked a good fight with Tyson but that was all, he just didn’t want to fight him and that’s a shame."
"Tyson can’t wait to get back in the ring after such a great win against Dereck Chisora."
