Unbeaten welterweight prospect Frankie Gavin has planned a busy schedule for himself. First he has targeted former world champion Junior Witter folllwed by a crack at the world title
However, before he can think about an all British clash with former WBC champion, Witter, Gavin must first get past French national champion Frank Haroche Horta. Gavin faces Horta at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester this Friday night in a defence of his WBO Inter-Continental welterweight title. The bout will be broadcast LIVE on BoxNation.
The British Boxing Board of Control have made Gavin Vs Witter as a final eliminator for the British title, which will be contested between champion Lee Purdy and Colin Lynes on November 9. Speaking to expressandstar.com Gavin said: “I am confident of beating anyone in Britain, the only one who is a bit ahead of me is Kell Brook, but that’s not a fight I can never win.
“I have got the skill and pedigree, I just need more experience over 12 rounds and, next year, hopefully I will be challenging for world titles.
“The better the opponent, the better you will get from me – and this guy(Horta) is no mug. He’s not technically brilliant, but he’s tough and can have a scrap.
“But as long as I keep my head moving, I will be alright.”
