Former two weight world champion Ricky Hatton insists he has ‘one more great fight’ in him. Britain’s most popular fighter is yet to make an official decision on whether he will fight again but there is every indication Hatton will fight again in May with Juan Manuel Marquez favoured to be in the opposite corner.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News the 31 year-old said: “I think I’ll be back.” I feel I have one more great fight in me.”
According reports Hatton and his advisors have already held talks with Team Marquez, who looks set to fight again in Las Vegas on May 1. Las Vegas has not proved a happy hunting ground for the Manchester ‘Hitman’ as both Floyd Mayweather jr and Manny Pacquiao both handed him heavy defeats in the boxing capital of the world.
Another possible opponent for Hatton could be a massive all British affair against WBA junior welterweight champ Amir Khan, though the Marquez fight looks to be the likely option.
