Matthew Hatton has told TalkSport he wants a money spinning clash with WBA junior-welterweight Champ Amir Khan after winning the IBF Intercontinental welterweight crown.
Matthew, brother of retired Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton, returned after being defeated by Saul Alvarez for the world title last Friday by defeating Andrei Abramenka in Blackpool.
Speaking about facing Khan, Hatton told TalkSport
“He has cleared up in the light-welterweight division and has spoken about moving up to welterweight which is where I compete so, if I can get hold of one of the titles, it’s a natural fight and it’s something I am very keen to do."
Hatton added: “It was nice after being out of the ring since the Alvarez fight and it was good to get back to winning ways.
“It was only a little nick after an accidental clash of heads, I’ve had bigger cuts shaving to be honest so it won’t keep me out for long and I am hopeful of getting another crack at the world title before Christmas.
“I’m highly ranked by a number of the top bodies like the IBF, WBC and WBA so there are a couple of good options out there and I am capable of fighting any of the champions out there and i believe beating them.”
