WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan has been taken ill whilst on holiday in Pakistan.
The 23 year-old is suffering from some sort of stomach problem or possible virus.
Speaking on his personal Twitter page the British boxer said: “Really ill in Pakistan. Got bad stomach ache and head ache. Want to vomit but just won’t let me. Also have a fever. I want to come home. Doctor came around told me to stay hydrated, but feel like eating or drinking. Back in bed resting up. Whatever I do, I ain’t going PK hospital.”
Khan fell ill whilst in South Africa for the world cup last month and could still be suffering from the same related illness. He hopes to be ringside for this weekend’s big fight in Las Vegas between Juan Manuel Marquez and Juan Diaz.
All being well it is hoped Khan will face the Marquez/Diaz winner in December.
