Wladimir Klitschko has said he is disgusted and disappointed by the trash talking directed at him by David Haye ahead of their heavyweight unification fight in Hamburg, Germany on Saturday(July 2) night.
The 30 year-old WBA champ has heaped one distasteful insult after another on Klitschko over the last two years in a bid to finally entice him into the ring but when Haye boasted about sending him home in an ambulance on Tuesday the 35 year-old IBF/WBO and IBO titleholder decided it was time to speak out.
"This game, this sport, is very intense and unfortunately there have been a lot of cases where people have been handicapped and people have died during and after fights," said Klitschko.
"It’s not something to joke about. No matter what, it is disgraceful and disrespectful for a man to wish to damage your health.
"It’s something you do not say. I felt embarrassed at the way David Haye acted in the press conference. Because it also casts a shadow on the sport.
"I think with all the wins that he got recently he became really cocky and totally big-headed."
Klitschko and Haye finally battle it out in Hamburg, Germany on Saturday night in the heavyweight match up of the year.
