Despite David Haye’s shockingly offensive trash talking towards him in the build up to their heavyweight unification battle in Hamburg on Saturday night, Wladimir Klitschko still had the good sense and dignity to advice David Haye not make excuses by blaming a broken toe for his defeat.
The 30 year-old Londoner had promised so much in the build up to their heavyweight unification battle but on the night but it was Klitschko who proved the master by soundly out boxing and clearly out-pointing Haye.
Immediately after the defeat Haye complained of a broken but at the post fight press conference Klitschko said: “You have a broken toe? I would give David some advice-Don’t say anything now, like you have a broken toe and couldn’t compete.
“You’ll be called a sore loser, it won’t be good. Take it like it is I could pull out certain things(injuries) as well but I have learned it is definitely wrong to do that. Do you have a medical statement?”
When Haye showed him the toe, Klitschko joked, “it’s a bee sting”
By taking Haye’s WBA title, Wladimir Klitschko now hold three of the four major organiastion titles, IBF,WBA and WBO, while elder brother Vitali holds the WBC version.
