When unbeaten Kevin Mitchell eventually fights for a world title stateside or anywhere else he has to go for that matter, he won’t be ditching long time promoter Frank Warren-he’ll be taking him with him.
The 25 year-old defends his WBO Inter Continental lightweight title at the Wembley Arena on Saturday night and hopes victory will earn him a crack at the world title.
"If Amir Khan can get a world title fight two fights after a loss, and I’m unbeaten at 25 years of age, I’m more than ready for a world title fight," he told Sky Sports News.
Mitchell is also aware that he will eventually have to fight in the US to gain valuable exposure and insists promoter Frank Warren will still be part of his plans.
"I’ve been with Frank for seven years now. One day I will be a multi-millionaire, I will want to go abroad and be a world champion and me and Frank will go together," insisted Mitchell.
"He guides people’s career perfect, he does things right and I’m good friends with Frank."
