New promotional company Assassin Promotions will stage the clash for the Vacant Irish Light Heavyweight Title between Michael Sweeney and John Waldron on 19th November at Galway’s Leisureland in Salthill.
The rivalry between the two boxers from County Mayo is fierce after their first meeting in August on the Henry Coyle undercard in Castlebar. Sweeney emerged the victor that night after the fight was stopped at the start of the fourth round owing to a cut above Waldron’s eye. Sweeney has since beaten former Commonwealth title Challenger, Billy Boyle
Tension will be high on the night as Waldron believes he was beating Sweeney. However Sweeney, trained by Sean Mannion, is out to prove him wrong and will be going for the knockout to settle the matter once and for all!
The undercard is also full of explosive talent with Darren Cruise, Alan Donnellan and heavyweight Paddy Ward also on the Bill. And making his pro debut will be Brandon Peake
