Hughie Fury, the uncle and trainer of British and Commonwealth champion Tyson Fury has revealed that his fighter’s promoter has made an offer for him to face either Irish based Cuban Mike Perez or Olympic Bronze medallist David Price.
Fury, who out-pointed Dereck Chisora to win the British and Commonwealth titles, fights again on September 17 and Uncle Hughie hopes it will be against either Price or Perez.
Speaking to Boxrec.com Fury said: “An offer has been made to Perez’s team.
“Perez is a good fighter, a southpaw, and is well known in Ireland, so hopefully we’ll get the fight on. Tyson sparred with Perez just prior to turning pro - he held his own in the first session and in my opinion he dominated the second session.
“We also submitted an offer to David Price and we are waiting to hear back. We’d like to get Price into the ring now while the fight means something as there is a real possibility Price could come unstuck against John McDermott (on November 5th).”
