French southpaw Frank Horta forced late substitute Dean Byrne to retire in the eighth round of their main event bout at Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester on Friday night.
Horta had been scheduled to face unbeaten welterweight prospect Frankie Gavin but Gavin surprisingly pulled with less than 24 hours to before the fight.
