Vitali Wants To Shut Haye’s Mouth Once And For All

By Clive Bernath: No Sooner had Vitali Klitschko dismantled the brave but outgunned Tomasz Adamaek in Poland on Saturday night that he announced his desire to knock out British motor mouth David Haye.

The 40 year-old WBC heavyweight champion, who stopped Adamek in the 10th round, is still angry at Haye for the disgusting comments he continually made before and during the build up to Wladimir’s bout with him back in July. And although family pride remained firmly intact when Wladimir outclassed Haye over 12 rounds, Vitali is not satisfied. He wants to shut Haye up once and for all by knocking him out.

Speaking to Sky Sports Vitali Klitschko said: "David Haye is the world’s biggest trash-talker and that’s why everybody knows him. He touched me and my brother personally and I want to knock him out. I’m serious. I want to knock David Haye out - I can do that.

"David Haye is world famous, not from boxing skills but from his long tongue

"It would be a great to fight in Great Britain. I know I have great support in Britain and I want to thank everybody there for watching this(Adamek fight) fight. I know they like the Klitschko brothers and we have good support there.

Haye has always insisted that he will retire on his 31st birthday in October but reports suggest he may just delay those plans. However, other reports suggest he will stick to his retirement plans. Regardless of what decision Haye comes to, the fact is he produced a very poor showing against Wladimir Klitschko and would be hard pressed to convince anyone that he would have a chance of defeating Vitali, who may not be as technically gifted as Wladimir but is almost certainly the tougher and bigger puncher of the two.

Maybe boxing fans will be happy to shell out their hard earned to see Haye humiliated and knocked out but that should not qualify him to challenge for the heavyweight championship of the world. If Haye is to convince boxing fans he belongs in the same ring as a Klitschko then how about he earn the right by facing either Alexander Povetkin, Chris Arreola, Robert Helenius or Tomasz Adamek first?
