Liam Walsh Takes a step up in class at the York Hall in Bethnal on September 30 when he defends his Commonwealth super-featherweight title against former British champ Paul Appleby.
Talking about facing Appleby Walsh said; "I’m really looking forward to facing Appleby who is without a doubt the biggest test of my career to date and will bring the best out in me.
"He’s a good quality fighter and I’m expecting that he’s vastly improved under new trainer Billy Nelson and being in the gym training alongside Ricky Burns.
"I’m raring to go in my first fight of the new season and I really want to put on a good show at the York Hall for my loyal fans who follow me and my brothers all around the country.
The bout will also be the first promotion for Francis and George Warren, the sons of promoter Frank Warren. The brothers have formed new promotional company Queensberry Promotions.
"It’s fantastic to be promoting championship boxing in our first independant show, and I’m delighted to be able to put the show on at the York Hall," said Francis Warren.
"The undercard features some of our new signings who we have high hopes for over the next twelve months."
