Danny Williams, a heavyweight Prizefighter loser last month, hopes to make a winning return when he faces an as yet unnamed opponent at the Watford Colosseum on November 29.
The 36 year-old British heavyweight champ was surprisingly floored and defeated by Sheffield journeyman Carl Baker, prompting calls for the popular Brixton fighter hang up his gloves and enjoy his retirement.
Williams, however, never one to conform to logic, has decided to carry on fighting and a routine win on November 29 will set him up to defend his title against the winner of the this Friday night’s rematch between Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion Sam Sexton and Martin Rogan.
The Mickey Helliet promoted bill will also feature home-town favourite JJ Ojuederie, who is on the brink of a challenge for the British and Commonwealth Light-heavyweight Titles.
Unbeaten former England amateur international Joe Smyth and heavyweight Ervis Jegeni will also be on the bill.
