Jesus Soto Karass, 25-7-3-(16) scored a 10 round split decision win over Sid El-Harrack, 10-2-1-(4), at Casino del Sol in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday night.
Soto Karass produced a solid performance to edge the fight on two judges scorecards by scores of 97-93 and 96-94, but the third official made El Harrak the winner, 97-93.
On the undercard unbeaten welterweight Jose Benavidez extended his record to 15-0-(12), by virtue of a six round unanimous decision win over Josh Sosa, 10-3-(5). The scores were 60-54, twice and 59-55. Considering Benavidez has been laid off with hand injury for the last six months he produced a good account of himself.

In a lightweight bout Erik Flores of Inglewood, Califormia won a unanimous four round decision over Rodolfo Gamez.
