Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley won a razor thin split decision over multiweight world champion Juan Manuel Marquez at the Thomas and Mack centre, Las Vegas, last night.
Bradley who retained his WBO Welterweight title with scores of 116-112, 115-113 in his favour and 115-113 for Marquez, appeared to be the quicker man and led early in a tactical fight between two natural counter-punchers.
Marquez, 40, had some success when the two chose to exchange, and came on stronger in the second half of the fight but was stunned by a Bradley left hook in the final round.
On the undercard, Orlando Salido captured captured the vacant WBO Featherweight bauble, with a dominant 7th round KO over Orlando Cruz.
Two time Olympic Gold Medallist Vasyl Lomachenko from the Ukraine made his professional debut taking on the experienced and world rated Jose Ramirez in a featherweight contest. Lomachenko stopped his Mexican opponent in the 4th round with a body shot.
