
Unbeaten light-middleweight prospect Eddie Gomez (7-0, 6 KOs) from the Bronx,New York scored a fifth round stoppage win over Cuban Antonio Infante (6-2, 4 KOs) at the Complejo Deportivo Nilmarie Santini in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Friday night.
The 19-year-old Gomez landed, who scored his fifth straight stoppage win, got the job done with an uppercut after 2.17. In the upset of the night Roberto Acevedo (11-12-3, 1 KO) scored a six round majority decision win over the previously unbeaten O’Neil Negron (8-1-1, 8 KOs). The scores were 57-57, 59-55, 58-56. In a cruiserweight, “Machine Gun” Keith Tapia scored a first round tko win over Kulian Santiago in a battle of first timers.
