This week’s planned press conference to announce the findings of the Arturo Gatti investigation has been postponed due to travel problems caused by Hurricane Irene.
The press conference to announce the findings of a 10 month investigation will now take place on September 7.
Private investigators Paul Ciolino of Chicago and Joseph Moura of Boston have been hired by Gatti’s manager Pat Lynch to look into Gatti’s death. The three-time world champion Gatti was found dead in his vacation apartment in Brazil on July 11, 2009. He was just 37 years old.
Brazilian police arrested Gatti’s wife Amanda Rodriguez but released her three weeks later. The Brazilian authorities ruled Gatti’s death a suicide. A number of medical and scientific expert witnesses will make brief presentations at the press conference which organizers say will conclusively reveal the cause of Gatti’s death.
