Hernan Marquez shows off his belt

WBA flyweight champ Hernan “Tyson” Marquez (32-2, 25 KOs) banged out Luis “El Nica” Concepcion (23-3, 18 KOs) in the first round at the Centro de Usos Multiples in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico on Saturday night.
Concepcion was floored three times before the bout was stopped after 1.49 of the opener.
Marquez had previously stopped Concepcion inside 11 tough rounds back in April 2011. On that occasion Marquez and Concepcion both hit the deck in the opener but this time there was ever only going to be one winner.
On the undercard super flyweight David “Tornado” Sanchez out-pointed Francisco “Chiquita” Rosas via decision over eight rounds by scores of 79-72, 80-71 and 80-71.
