Mayweather Jnr’s Vow

Undefeated former pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jnr has vowed to re-claim his title as the world’s No.1 boxer

The prestigious title is currently held by Filipino action man Manny Pacquiao, who inherited the title when Floyd announced his retirement in December 2007.

However, ‘Pretty Boy’, who faces Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on September 19, is now ready to re-claim his crown, stating: “I will destroy Marquez and reclaim my rightful place as boxing’s pound-for-pound king all in one night.

“I am relieved to be cleared to fight as I was already looking forward to getting back in the ring.”

If Mayweather Jnr does defeat the Mexican tough guy, Floyd is expected to face Pacquiao to settle once and for all who is the best fighter on the planet.

Mayweather p4p king

srr: Floyd should be able to handle Manny and Marquez if he is in shape after a long absense from the ring. Marquez is the better fighter and Floyd knows it, but Manny is more dangerous as a puncher by far. In fact if Floyd is indeed in shape; then I would pick him to beat not only Marquez and Manny; but also over Cotto, Mosley and Margarito he is that skilled!!!! On the other hand, the only person I don't think he could beat even at his best would be Paul Williams. Pound for Pound Mayweather is much better than Williams, but with Williams punch output and movement along with his height and reach would make it difficult to beat him although it may be possible. Quintana caught an out of shape Williams, but got thrashed in the first round in the next fight.

mayweather vs marquez

ghgghtg: i see this as a fight mayweather can win, although both are classed as counter punchers mayweather posseses that bit more craft in defense and therfore isnt hit as easily,, whether he cn beat pacquio is a different story and il make a judgement on that once i see what kind of shape floyd is in,, he's been out of action for a long time.
