Floyd Mayweather Jr returns to the ring on May 5, 2012, and his advisor Leonard Ellerbe says Mayweather wants to finally fight Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao in a clash to decide the world’s best pound for pound boxer.
ESPN’s website reported Thursday Ellerbe says he wants Mayweather to fight the best possible opponents.
"We’re looking to make the biggest fight possible and everyone knows what that fight is -- the little fella," Ellerbe told ESPN.
"Floyd made it very clear to us what he wanted to do. He told us he is looking to make the biggest fight that is out there and to make it in May.
"We’re going to do everything in our power to make the biggest fight out there for the fans and we all know what the fight is."
The news will no doubt be welcomed by Team Pacquiao but two obstacles to be overcome first will be Pac Man’s November 12 clash with long time rival Juan Manuel Marquez and of course the ongoing argument regarding blood testing before, during and after the proposed event.
