Mitchell Promotions have announced their boxing show, scheduled for December 4.
Their show at Hermitage Leisure Centre in Whitwick, North Leicestershire back in September featured a contender for fight-of-the-year when Martin Concepcion won the Midlands Area middleweight championship from Matt Hainy in a thriller
Mitchell Promotions return to the same venue on Sunday, December 4 for what promises to be another action-packed bill.
Leicester middleweight Marc Ketnor, a new addition to Mitchell’s stable, is never in a dull fight, while Simon Henry aims to build on his promising debut in September – and fight fans will see three fighters launch their professional careers.
Cruiserweight hope Tommy Ward, ruled out of the last show with an ankle injury, is the latest talent from the Belgrave Amateur Boxing Club gym in Leicester where former champions Chris Pyatt, Tony Sibson, Tony McKenzie and Tim Wood learned to box.
Ward won Junior ABA and Four Nations honours and welterweight Junior Thompson also made his mark as an amateur, reaching a National Schoolboy final.
Loughborough cruiserweight Andy Mitchell also makes his paid debut and Chesterfield ticket-seller Paddy Connors aims to make it back-to-back wins in the 14st 4lbs division.
Clifton Mitchell hopes to set up a rematch between flyweights Sheldon Purdy and Kevin Coglan.
Their collision in September was a small-hall classic. Purdy, making his paid debut after winning the ABA Novice championships in January, was rattled by right hands in the second, then came back to blast Coglan to the brink of defeat in the fourth. Coglan got through the crisis and nicked the points decision after six rounds of non-stop action.
