Antonio Margarito will be examined by an ophthalmologist appointed by the New York State Athletic Commission today(Saturday) to decide if he can face Miguel Cotto in New York on December 3.
At a hearing on Friday, members of the NYSAC decided that Margarito had to undertake a second eye examination to corroborate previous positive results from other specialists.
It appears that the NYSAC wants to satisfy themselves that Margarito is fit to fight in the state of New York.
If Margarito is unsuccessful in being granted a licence promoter Bob Arum could take the fight to Texas on December 3.
