Undisputed world middleweight king Sergio Martinez says he is willing to take a potentially fatal risk and fight Manny Pacquiao at 150lbs.
Pacquiao’s Fighting Future Is In The USA
Pound for pound No.1 boxer Manny Pacquiao is arguably the most famous person in his native Philippines but his promoter Bob Arum says his top prizefighter is unlikely to ever fight in his homeland. In fact the Top Rank boss believes he will never fight outside of the United States.

Pacquiao Motivated By Marquez Comments

Whilst pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao is expecting a great and explosive fight against Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas on November 12, the Filipino boxing hero admits he is motivated by the comments the Mexican tough guy has made in the pre fight build up.

“Juan Manuel Márquez has the right to make alibis about not winning our two previous fights,” said Pacquiao, who has already fought two thrillers with Marquez. “It’s because of those alibis that I am so motivated for our upcoming fight. I want to end all the questions he has raised about who won our past fights and who the better fighter is.

“The years between each fight has made it more interesting. Which of us has improved more?

Pacquiao added: “I have improved a lot. I am a more complete fighter than when we fought previously. I am now a two-fisted fighter. My right is as potent, as powerful and as dangerous as my left. I have as much confidence in my right as I do in my left.

“Another difference between Márquez and me is that since our second fight, I have challenged bigger opponents with a lot more success than he has.

This will be an exciting fight because our styles make for exciting fights. He likes to fight toe-to-toe as I do. We both like action and to engage our opponents.

“I have something to prove in this fight.

“I expect Márquez to be faster and stronger than the last time we fought. He is the ultimate competitor. I am prepared to go another brutal 12 rounds just like the previous two fights.

“There will be a lot of action in this fight. We both have a lot of pride when we enter the ring representing our countries, fighting for the honor of our nations.”

Pacquiao and Marquez fought to a 12 round split decision draw for the WBA and IBF featherweight titles in May 2005. On that occasion Marquez was down three times in the first round. Three years later in 2008 Pacquiao won a very close 12 round split decision for the WBC super-featherweight crown
