Featherweight No.1 contender Chonlatarn Or Piriyapinyo, 38-0-(22), stopped Roel Laguna (12-7-2, 8 KOs) from the Philippines via sixth round knockout at the Bangla Boxing Stadium on Phuket Island, Thailand on Friday.
Piriyapinyo, who successfully defended his WBO Asia Pacific featherweight title, was under fire from the crude power punching Laguna from the start but managed to hold his nerve and pick off his opponent with solid combinations.
Laguna had his fair share of success with the right uppercut but Piriyapinyo returned fire to floor Laguna at the end of round three.

As the rounds past Piriyapinyo rained in more power punches, the last of which knocked Laguna down again for the full count.
Immediately after his victory Chonlatarn Or Piriyapinyo said: “I wants to challenge Jhonny Gonzalez to get my first world championship belt,” Piriyapinyo said. “If I get chance to fight with Gonzalez, I will be the new world champion. I believe it one hundred per cent.”
