Mexican José “Torito” Rodriguez won a very tough 12 round split decision win over Nethra Sasiprapa to win the vacant WBA interim light flyweight title in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico on Saturday.
Two judges scored the bout 114-112 and 113-111 for Rodriguez while the third official made it 114-111 for Sasiprapa.
Referee Russell Mora deducted a point for low blows in rounds one and seven from Sasiprapa. The card was promoted by Zapari Boxing and Canelo Promotions.
