
super bantamweight Victor Terrazas (31-2-1, 18 KOs) scored a massive upset on Saturday when he defeated former three division world champion Fernando “Kochulito” Montiel (46-3-2, 36 KOs) in a clash for the vacant WBC Silver super bantamweight title.
The bout took place at the Estadio de Centenario in Los Mochis, Sinaola, Mexico.
Terrazas pressured Montiel for 12 rounds and floored him with a straight right hand in round five.
Terrazas continued to pile on the pressure in the latter part of the fight which saw Montiel’s face busted up by the constant battering. Montiel battled late on but it was Terrazas stood firm to take the decision by scores of 115-112, 115-113 and 114-113 on all the judges cards.
