
Bogere Flattened Contreras

Sharif “The Lion” Bogere (21-0, 13 KOs) won the battle of the unbeaten lightweights at the Tesax Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday night when he scored a spectacular third round knockout over Francisco Contreras (16-1, 13 KOs).
The end came after 2.01 of the third when Bogere landed a right hand to the jaw followed by a glancing blow on what looked likethe shoulder to lay Contreras out face down for the full count.
Contreras was down for quite a while and was taken from the ring on a stretcher, though looked conscious as he left the ring. Bogere retained his NABO lightweight title.
On the Showtime televised undercard undefeated junior middleweight Jermell Charlo (16-0, 7 KOs) boxed his way to an eight round unanimous decision win over Francisco Santana (12-3-1, 6 KOs). Santana had a good round six, hurting Charlo, but recovered to claim a 79-73, 78-74, 79-73 on all the judges cards.
