After 12 years of waiting undefeated Jessie Vargas finally gets the opportunity to impress on Saturday night when he faces Josesito Lopez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The 22 year-old has been dreaming of fighting on a massive televised card since he was 10 years old and on Saturday he provides the undercard action to Floyd Mayweather’s world title challenge against Victor Ortiz on HBO ppv.
Speaking to the Las Vegas Sun Vargas said; “When I was 10 years old, I said this is what I want, and I set my mind to it.
“I would picture everything that is happening now when I was 10 years old. I would see it like a movie. I knew this would happen. I know I’m going to be the world champion, so I’m living the goal I set for myself.
Vargas added: “This is what we have been waiting for. Any fighter has been waiting for this opportunity giving to me. Now I have to take advantage of it.”
