By Craig Phillips:Following his appearance at WWE Pay-per view Now Way Out on Sunday (February 17), it looks as though pound for pound boxing king Floyd Mayweather Jr may take part in a wrestling match.
In an incident which Mayweather insisted was not scripted the undefeated boxer struck the 7ft wrestler Paul “Big Show” Wight with four clean punches, but the following night on “Monday Night Raw”, Mayweather accepted a challenge to meet the wrestler in a match.
If the bout doews take place it will probably be at the company’s biggest money spinner “Wrestlemania” which takes place on March 30.
If Mayweather does appear at Wrestlemania he will follow in the footsteps of boxers Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson who have both appeared at the event in its 24 year history.
For Mayweather it sees another step in his efforts to become a “mainstream” sports star after his appearance on Dancing With The Stars in 2007.
