Jorge Arce co-feature, prospect Antonio De Marco passed his toughest test to date with a ninth round TKO over Almazbek “Kid Diamond” Raiymkulov.
“Kid Diamond” pressed the action on the taller southpaw, who looked to score with his left and keep distance. The bout was fairly close, with De Marco having a big ninth, hurting “Diamond” late in the round. The bout was halted after the ninth at the suggestion of Raiymkulov’s corner. DeMarco ups his ledger to 20-2-1 (14). Diamond is now 27-2-1 (15).
Vanes Martirosyan, the 2004 Olympian, boxed his way to a unanimous points win against tough Billy Lyell in a junior middleweight eight rounder. Official scores were 80-72, 79-73, and 78-74. Martirosyan hurt his left hand early in the bout. Martirosyan is 23-0 (14). Lyell is now 18-7 (3).
Bantamweight prospect Chris Avalos improved to 9-0 (7) with a TKO of scrappy Torrance Daniels. Daniels was dropped twice and the bout halted after the seventh. Daniels slips to 12-9-1 (5).
In a super welterweight four rounder, Omar Henry needed less than a minute to blow out out-gunned Francisco Martinez. Official time was 57 seconds of round one. Henry is now 3-0, all by stoppage. Martinez remains winless at 0-3.
