According to reports, Andre Berto will challenge IBF welterweight champion Jan Zaveck in Biloxi, Mississippi on September 3.
Berto, 27 – 1 (21 KOs), lost his WBC crown in a thrilling up and down contest with Victor Ortiz at Foxwoods, Mashantucket in April and has been keen to get back into the world title picture as quickly as possible.
The Floridian puncher, 27, will be no stranger to Biloxi, having defended his title there to Luis Collazo in early 2009.
For Slovenia’s Zaveck, aged 35, the bout will mark the fourth defence of the IBF strap he won by upsetting Isaac Hlatshwayo in South Africa 18 months ago.
