Former world champion Jorge Arce wasted no time in disposing of Adolfo Ramos in Campeche, Mexico on Saturday night.
Arce, 56-6-2-(43), sent Ramos to the canvas with a right cross to the head early on in the opening round. Ramos managed to beat the count but a follow up attack by the veteran Mexican was enough for the bout to be stopped. The time was 2.06.
Ramos falls to 16-11-1(10). Arce will now look for one more major title opportunity, probably against WBO super bantamweight king Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.

At super-featherweight Jorge Lacierva won a 10 round unanimous decision over Joksan Hernandez. Hernandez did well to last the distance after being floored three time in the opening round.
