Former world welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir, 46-13-6-(14), won a 10 round split verdict over Amilcar Funes, 22-10-(17 ), on Friday night at the Estadio Aldo Cantoni in San Juan, Argentina.
The junior middleweight clash saw Baldomir from start to finish. Funes was competitive but Baldomir was just that bit stronger ,The scores at the end of 10 rounds were 99-93 and 98-97 for Baldomir and 98-96.5 for Funes.
On the undercard unbeaten local fighter Marcelino Lopez improved to 20-0-(9) in a WBC Latino lightweight title bout with a third round knockout vicotory against Jailer Berrio. Berrio was floored three times.
