Banal Could Return With Shot AT Title


Filipino bantamweight AJ "Bazooka" Banal may get a chance to fight for the WBO interim bantamweight title IN 2012.

According to PhilBoxing.com, ALA Promotions President Michael Aldeguer has been discussing with WBO President Francisco Valcarcel about a title shot for Banal.

If the information is correct Banal may fight Thailand’s Pungluang Sor Singyu for the title in March 2012.

Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire currently holds the WBO bantamweight crown, but he is planning to move up to super bantamweight leaving the title vacant.

Singyu, is ranked number 3 in the WBO’s bantamweight ratings and holds a 36-1 win-loss record.

Banal has a record of 24 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw, with 19 wins coming by knockout. H
