Former WBA heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev improved his record to 27-1-1-(17), with a tough but unanimous eight round points win over American Travis Walker at the Universum Gym in Hamburg, Germany on Friday night.
In a tough competitive fight did just enough to nick the verdict on all three judges cards by scores of 77-75, 78-75, 77-76. Chagaev is the mandatory challenger to WBA champion David Haye.
Ion the undercard heavyweight contender Denis Boytsov, 28-0-(23), floored Mike Shepherd twice in round one and twice in round two before the bout was called off after 1.18. Boytsov show no signs of the recent hand.
