Clenshaw Faces King Davidson in Final Fight

By Paul Upham: Manager Peter Mitrevski Sr has been having plenty of problems getting Nigerian junior middleweight boxing prospect King Davidson a fight, but popular gladiator Josh Clenshaw has stepped up to take the challenge in his final fight on Saturday night at the Blacktown RSL Club in Sydney, Australia.

Trained by Johnny Lewis, 24 year-old Davidson 7-0 (5) has looked so far to be a future world title contender. Mitrevski Sr is convinced that Davidson will be Lewis’s next world champion.

Win, lose or draw, 32 year-old “Chainsaw” Clenshaw 26-15 (13) says this will be his last fight.

A sell-out crowd is expected for this event presented by Empire Fight Promotions and Core Strength Boxing.

“The tickets have sold really well,” said Fidel Tukel, from Blacktown Hit Squad gymnasium. “We will only have a few tickets left on sale at the door.”

Powerful heavyweight Solomon Haumono will also appear on the card, while the vacant Australian lightweight title will be on the line between Jason Crowe and Sedat Tasci over ten rounds.

“As great as the main event will be, I think the Crowe-Tasci fight will be the fight of the night,” said Tukel.

There will be amateur and professional matches on the card. The action will commence at 7:00pm.
