
American former light-heavyweight champ Chad Dawson put himself on schedule for a crack at new WBC light-heavyweight king Bernard Hopkins at the Bell Center in Montreal, Canada on Saturday night by out-pointing Adrian Diaconu over 12 rounds.
At the end of the 12 rounds, all three judges had Dawson winning handily by scores of 117-111, 118-110, 116-112..
On the Hopkins vs Pascal undercard welterweight Kevin Bizier, 15-0-(11), knocked out Mauro Lucero, 46-14-1, with a left hook to the body in the fifth round. A clash of heads earlier in the round opened a bad gash over the eye of Lucero
