De La Mora Is ‘Very Prepared’ For Kameda

David ‘Morita’ De La Mora insists he is very prepared for his WBA bantamweight title challenge against hometown favourite Koki Kameda at the Nihon Budokan in Tokyo on Wednesday(Aug 31).

The Mexican challenger held a media workout recently to publicise the fight and confidently stated that he is ‘very prepared’ for the challenge ahead. “I came to Japan to win the world title,” said De La Mora. “I respect Koki Kameda but this title goes back home with me to Tijuana. I traveled a long way and I am very prepared with the objective to crown myself champion and that is what I am going to do. I have total confidence in my talent and in my team to be able to beat Kameda.”

De La Mora’s manager Antonio Lozada is also confident his boxer will leave Japan with the title. “David has great conditioning, he is very motivated and he knows this is the fight of his life,” Lozada said via a conference phone call. “In his first work out in Japan last Wednesday, there was a lot of press and they looked impressed. The translator who is assigned to us mentioned that he looked in better shape than Kameda which gave us confidence.”
