Dib-Yamaguchi Headlines July 9 Superboxer Card

The first of the new Superboxer series cards to be televised live around Australia on Network Ten’s 24 hour free-to-air sports channel ONE will be held on Thursday July 9 at the Big Top Arena in Luna Park, Sydney.

The promotion will be headlined by 23 year-old former IBO junior lightweight world champion Billy “The Kid” Dib 22-1 (11) against 29 year-old Kenichi Yamaguchi 15-1-2 (4) from Osaka, Japan. The match will be over twelve rounds with the interim WBO Asia Pacific featherweight title at stake.

Fidel Tukal’s The Empire group is promoting the event. Tickets at $157.40, $107.40, $84.40 and $62.40 are available from Ticketek and www.BigTopSydney.com

The Channel 10 television event will be hosted by ONE commentator Greg Rust and renowned boxing trainer Johnny Lewis, along with commentators Matthew Brooks, Paul Kent and Daryl Beattie.
