By Teddy Stenmark: Former WBO super featherweight title challenger, Andreas Evensen hasn’t been in the ring since he challenged for the title against Ricky Burns in Glasgow in early December, but the skilled Norwegian has now been given a spot on the undercard of the Amin Asikanien vs Potr Wilczewski card at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki March 4th.
Evensen is to face 27 year-old Bulgarian Yordan Vasilev, who doesn’t sport a too impressive boxing record (9-20-2) but has plenty of experience and has a background in kickboxing where he was pretty successful (European & World titles according to Norwegian press).
“He is a good opponent for Andreas and our ambition is to get a European or World title fight this upcoming spring/summer says trainer Helge Wærøy. The fight against Vasilev is scheduled for eight rounds.
