Moises Fuentes upset fellow Mexican Raul Garcia to claim the WBO minimumweight title at the Auditorio Benito Juárez in Guadalajara, Mexico on Saturday night.
Despite being knocked down in the ninth round the 28 year-old challenger regained his composure and battled his way to 12 round split decision win. The scores were 114-112 twice for Fuentes and 114-112 for Garcia.
Fuentes improved his record to, 14-1-(6), Garcia falls to 30-2-1-(18).
In the co main event, IBF junior flyweight champion Ulises Solís, 34-2-(21), scored a near shutout 12 round unanimous decision over the previously undefeated Jether Oliva, 17-1-1-(11). The scores were 120-108, 118-110 and 119-109.
